Known as the father of Europe, Charlemagne was one of the most important figures of the Roman Empire and would go on to become one of the most powerful medieval rulers in history. Both stories have been written a century following his death and full of admiration. Einhard accounts two separate biographical accounts of Charlemagne, also known as Charles the Great, in his book Two Lives of Charlemagne.
